Rolling Stones – Tammy Urwin, Director
With 50,000 fans filling Old Trafford stadium under blue skies, there was a festival atmosphere before Rolling Stones even took to the stage.
And from the opening line of ‘I was born in a cross fire hurricane’ , with 74-year-old Mick prancing like a catwalk model down the promenade stage into the crowds, right through to the rocking encore of (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction, the Rolling Stones showed why they are still the greatest rock ‘n’ roll band in the world. Rumour has it this will be the final tour for the Stones so to see them was a real privilege and in Manchester you know the party will go on way after the band have left the stadium.

Nozstock The Hidden Valley – Natasha Deuten, Event Coordinator
Nozstock, annual independent art and music festival in the British countryside of Herefordshire, was founded by a fun-loving family and their friends who share a love for music. Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, I am excited to be attending for my 9th year in a row. Hosting ten stages of live music ranging from hip hop, acoustic, house, drum and bass, while supporting bands from across the country, they also have a theatre, cinema and comedy tent.
Some of the big names performing this year are Chase & Status, Goldfrapp, Black Sun Empire and DJ Marky. Nozstock is also going green – reusable cups, no plastic straws, biodegradable glitter – and at the end of the festival, a bag of collected rubbish gets you GBP 5 back! I can’t wait, especially as I’m volunteering for the first time this year.

Nicole Herzog, Event Manager
I flew into Budapest for a quick visit to surprise my dad for his 70th birthday. He’s a huge classical music buff and had just finished attending Wagner’s Ring Cycle at Müpa, so our friends organized a private tour (open to anyone at set times) of the Hungarian State Opera for him. It’s currently under renovation until 2019 – it first opened in 1884 – so no concerts are happening nor could we see the auditorium. We did a great behind-the-scenes tour including lots of insider tidbits plus a mini concert on the steps afterwards. Definitely, an hour well spent followed by a nice stroll through the gorgeous city!
